Who Can Become a Vendor?

PlantBridge Africa welcomes eligible businesses and sellers involved in the construction and mining equipment industry, including:

  • Equipment dealers and distributors: businesses offering machinery from multiple manufacturers.
  • Manufacturers and authorised representatives: companies supplying construction, mining and industrial equipment.
  • Importers and exporters: suppliers connecting international equipment sources with African buyers.
  • Equipment suppliers and traders: businesses with legitimate equipment inventory available for sale.
  • Equipment owners: eligible owners with the authority to advertise and sell their machinery.

Whether you supply a single machine or manage a wider inventory, your listings should be accurate, genuine and supported by the information buyers need to assess the equipment.

5. Manage Enquiries and Connect with Buyers

Keep your listings current, respond to enquiries and communicate directly with prospective buyers to discuss the terms of a potential sale.

What Makes a Good Equipment Listing?

Help buyers make informed decisions by providing complete and accurate information.

  • Equipment identification: Make, model, equipment type and year, where available.
  • Condition: Clearly identify the equipment as new, used or refurbished, as applicable.
  • Specifications: Include relevant technical details, capacity and operating hours where available.
  • Photographs/Videos: Use clear images/videos that accurately represent the equipment being offered.
  • Pricing: State the asking price or indicate that buyers should request a quotation.
  • Location and availability: Tell buyers where the equipment is located and whether it is available.
  • Additional information: Include service history, known defects, warranty details and delivery arrangements where relevant.

Accurate listings help buyers assess suitability and make enquiries with a clearer understanding of the equipment.

Vendor Responsibilities

As a PlantBridge Africa vendor, you are responsible for ensuring that your listings and business information are accurate and that you have the authority to offer the equipment for sale.

Vendors should:

  • Keep listings, prices and availability up to date.
  • Respond honestly to buyer enquiries.
  • Disclose material information about equipment condition.
  • Use genuine photographs and avoid misleading claims.
  • Comply with applicable laws and their obligations to buyers.
  • Honour the commercial commitments they make directly to buyers.
  • Review the applicable vendor terms and any fees or commissions disclosed for the services they use.

PlantBridge Africa provides the marketplace for equipment discovery and seller enquiries. Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, buyers and third-party vendors negotiate and complete their transactions directly.

Understand the Vendor Terms

Before registering or publishing equipment, please read the PlantBridge Africa Vendor Terms.

The Vendor Terms explain the conditions that apply to using the marketplace as a seller, including vendor responsibilities, listing requirements, verification, applicable fees and other relevant conditions.

Please review the applicable terms and pricing information before committing to any paid service or vendor arrangement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does joining PlantBridge Africa guarantee equipment sales?

No. Listing equipment gives your inventory an opportunity to be discovered by potential buyers, but enquiries and sales are not guaranteed.

Can I list used equipment?

Yes, subject to the platform’s requirements. Clearly disclose the equipment’s condition and provide accurate specifications and supporting information where available.

Do I need to be a Verified Dealer to sell?

Follow the vendor registration and verification requirements presented by PlantBridge Africa. A Verified Dealer designation is granted only after the applicable verification process has been completed and approved.

Are there fees for listing equipment?

Applicable fees, vendor plans, promotional charges or sales commissions depend on the service or arrangement offered. Review the relevant pricing information and Vendor Terms before proceeding.

Does PlantBridge Africa handle payment and delivery?

For third-party listings, buyers and sellers generally arrange payment and delivery directly with one another. PlantBridge Africa does not hold third-party purchase funds in escrow under its standard marketplace model.

PlantBridge Africa is designed to connect African buyers with regional and international equipment suppliers. International vendors should provide accurate business information and clearly communicate equipment location, shipping arrangements and other applicable terms.
